Jingle Bells!!!

Here is the 1st of my latest projects from Hobbysew, I was given lovely Bo Bunny papers, Tim Holtz metal xmas embellishments, a frame and Petaloo flowers, which I will be using on my next LO. After a few years of trying to get great photos of all my decorations, I am once again disapointed in them, and I didn't get time to redo them. So I will have to try again.
Anyway I played with lots of things doing this LO some may look at it and think it is a dogs breakfast, but its just they way it came together with what I had to use and what I wanted to use. I added Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Suede, English Ivy and Brick & a fence mask. Kaiser Craft wooden sleigh, buttons, letters, what was red hession sprayed with Suede to dull it a bit plus rub ons. Tim's ruler tape and Tattered Leaves plusDistress Inks Forest Moss & Aged Magogany. Well I think thats all I have used.
Hope you all have a wonderful Xmas and take lots of photos so you can spend lots of time scrap booking.

Halloween photo

Welcome to our Halloween Party, this sign DD brought back from America, pretty cute.

DD 2nd attempt at pumpkin carving.
Cookie Fingers, still bleeding, I told a little girl that I had ripped them off a naughty child earlier, well her eyes nearly popped our of her head and she was about to run away, I did say that I was only joking, it was so funny for me, more so that the little girl. LOL

Chocolate Mousse.....yummy!! but as a grave with body parts....spooky. You can just see part of a leg hanging out. These were a big hit.

My group of friendly scary and not so scary guests. I can't wait to put them all on LOs.

little rozie

Not a good photo of this LO, so sorry about that, I started of with very plain background from the new Prima Printery Collection. I then sprayed with glimmor mist Swede & Bell Bottom Jeans using also 4 masks. 3 different stamps where used with eirther Rusty Hinge or Vintage Photo from the Distress Ink collection. I then gathered up lots of bits and bobs painted with Gesso then strayed with the same inks. I added Dusty Attic chicken wire, flowers, paper doyle,Timmy's film strip & tissue tape and Kaiser lace, plus I had a embossed bit of card so I made a little folder to hold the original photos. So different from what I normaly do, but it was lots of fun, a wee bit messy and I am happy with the results.

Mummy, Daddy & Sandyman

The left page was a class I attended, but added a subtracted a few things, then I made the right side to match with a few changes. I made a little book to hold the original photo and journaling, and I was really pleased with the old worn look the I aimed for, its great when a plan works. I love the paper range and colours on this LO, and I really enjoyed working of this.

Party

The last LO of my cousins Christening. I use more of the Lost & Found with stamping, tearing, etc. I made an envelope for the original photos. It doesn't look much like a party, but as I can see the odd glass of beer, and a smoke in my Nannies hand, and it was in the back yard of my Grandparents Hotel, I feel the party may have started after the formal photos.

Halloween

I have just been looking at some of Glen's great Halloween ideas, I now can't wait till next year. We had a party, which was lots of fun. I enjoyed all the planning and making decorations and food, but I was very tired the next day, so we took Miju Japanese exchange student out Yabbying, which was fun, but not god weather for Yabbies, very windy & .cold therefore we only got 2, but now Miju has seen and tasted our famous Yabbies. I am off to the class tonight, which will be good, then I now hope to do some Halloween LOs over the weekend or at least put some photos up for you to look/laugh at.

Family

I like this page because it has the only photo of my family when I was little. I would have been about one when these photos where taken. It was taken on my cousins Christening day, in the backyard of my Grandparents Hotel. The papers are My Mind's Eye, Lost & Found, I am just loving using this range, I bought some of the flowers and made some, I did some embossing, inking, etc. I made a small envelope to keep the original photos in so they will always be safe, (I have scanned the originals for sharing with others, and a back up). I also translated photo heading into French & Italian just for something to do.

SEW GOOD

Well this was one of the hardest LOs that I have attempted. The colours & patterns in the paper and the emblishment were really different from what I usually work with. So I have struggled big time, hence the time it has taken. I didn't have any photos that really suited, so I finally choose photos of Annabelle's 1st quilt, which had lots of colours and patterns. The paper range are from Bo Bunny "Vicky B", I couldn't use all the different paper as there were so many, but I have use about 6 plus the buttons. First I sprayed onto bubble wrap Spritz Sea Kiss then stampped onto the 2 base sheets of paper, then I used the same colour cotton that was used in the quilt and sewed around the edge. I added a Kaiser Craft sewing model and stuck the material to the back of a photo of the quilt and then drapped it around the model. Raised a couple of flowers, used inks on edges and left strands of cotton hanging around. Cricut Mini Monograms was used for the heading, then with my lovely hand sewing I went aound the letters etc.

Sisters

I am just loving doing these pages. This one is of myself about 5/6 months early 1958 with my big Sister. I loved making some of the flowers, and have found an old doyle to use, made a little envelope to hold the original photos.

Times Passed

This is a LO that I fell in love with, created by Natalie Kuczer of Victoria. But then I read/noticed it was Digital, buggar. But after looking and studying I was determinted to do it. So I set about finding substitutes. Natalie had only completed a single LO, so I had to use the brain to complete the matching side with a difference. So to get a better look at it double click on it to enlarge it. I had taken close ups of different sections but each time I uploaded them they were on the side.

The photos of DH many moons ago dressed up for his sibblings weddings.

It's all about ME!!!

Well I managed to upload after all.

I have copied some element from obviously a talented Scrapbooker, but I can't find her name, so if I am lucky enough that the Scrapbooker ever looks at my blog and a vague copy of her LO, a bit thank you for your inspiration for my LO.

Well this is the LO that I started on Friday night, I have had so much fun doing it, from straying the doleys with Spritz, making the flowers from old books, covering chip board flourishes, inking, tearing, and buying lots of goodies to add to it. I wasn't going to have any pink, but I thought just a touch would be nice, so there is a little bit of pink with a brown tinge. I also used stamps, rub ons, foam tape and brads. Plus I just had to have a bit of pink velet ribbon, velvet reminds me of my childhood, so I just had to add a touch.

Disappointed

Well I am so disappointed, I have finally finished a LO that I have been working on for some weeks, (waiting on DH to give me some info for the LO), plus a LO that I started on Friday night, continued yesterday and have now finished it late this afternoon (Sunday), well blogger won't up load my pictures, it did one and it was on sideways and when I went to reload it just won't. I have closed down and started again but that didn't work. So I will try again tomorrow night.

Footloose & Fancy Free

Well at long last I have completed the LO that I set out to do some weeks ago. These photos were taken about 1.00am after my Niece's wedding and I just love them. The boys were all hungry so we stopped to get some pizzas. Well after being in a drought for so long the water running in the gutter was to much for my Mother-in-Law to pass up. At the age of 91 all dressed up she had a great time. So many passerbys stopped and took photos of her, it was rather funny. It didn't take much for Annabelle, Catherine & Jilly to join in.

The paper range is My Mind's Eye, with some of their embellishments. The Footloose & Fancy Free heading had a border of paper that didn't go with all the others that I had used, so I covered it with one that did blend in, so don't go looking for it LOL. I cut out the unbrellas and backed then with a glitter black cardstock, so it glimmers when different lights shine on it, and used foam tape to make them stand out. I typed up different words relating to the weather in English then French then Italian printed it out on transparence and have place them around the page. I then tried to make an unbrella, which turned out OK, but it was fun fiddling.

Beary Special

The left hand side of this LO we did in class on Friday night, and it was the first time that I didn't get.........

A. it finished or

B. the 2nd page to go with it.

Not sure what happened, but it was a great night and the LO is now finished and I just love it. We used the new Crafters Companion tool, which was good fun and I can see how it would be a great little companion to have, so I will have to add to my wish list. I had a fair bit of journaling to go with these photos, and not a lot of room so I had to do an extenstion, so I am hoping that it will pull out easily to read once in my album.

Changes to LO

When I showed DD the LO "Happy Family Times", she did like it but felt the top left hand corner was a little plain, and that the pearl swirl didn't show up enough, which I then agreed with. So I have added so bling around the pearls, which I think has helped. But you will have to see it in Hobbysew now as I took it there before I took another photo of it, so sorry to those that don't live in Echuca. I also added some pearls to the little lamp and they have lifted it.

Happy Family Times

Surprise Surprise, I have managed another LO, using MME that Hobbysew gave me to play with, this is the 2nd LO I had in my mind to do, but I was hoping to use other photos with a different design, but anyway I now have these photos on a LO, which is great. The colours in the paper go so well with the photos, which is an unusal combination for me. Anyway, I cut around the scalloped paper and reversed the inside, I poked out and flipped the little 1/2 circles. I also used Kaiser Pearl swirl and Prima lace, pearls, bling swirl plus emblishments from the MME range. Plus lots of foam tape. I used my cricut to cut out the little shields in 2 sizes, inked the edges with Kaiser Teal inkpad.

Pt Lonsdale Pier

Below is a LO with photos that I took of DD & her friend on our Girls Weekend. (which was lots of fun) I have use My Minds Eye Hattie Boy. I had lots of fun using these papers and making my brain work. (which it hasn't in a long time LOL). I used my Cricut to cut out the flags, and what was left over from the little banner I turned into a flower/circle thing, with a MME button in the centre and string, which I also used to hang the banner and on the flag pole. I also sanded around the edge of the photos to give them their own frame.
I love taking photos under this pier, so some of you may have seen other photos very similar, but I love how the large poles form a frame, and with the cross it seems to just finish it off.

My Mind's Eye

On my visit to Hobbysew yesterday, Helen wanted me to choose from the new range of My Mind's Eye, well I couldn't, A) I didn't have the brain working, B) I couldn't think what I would do with any of the 4 designs, so I told Helen to choose for me. Well as I left the shop I was still wondering what photos I had to go with them. But as I drove home the brain started to think (thank god) and by the time I got home I knew that I had the right photos for the paper. But I had to order a couple more, which I have done and will pick them up in the morning, then I will start to play with the 2 douple LO's that I have in my mind. So in the mean time I have completed a couple more LOs in my Mother-in -law's album, so getting closer to being finished. With a bit of luck it will be finished for Mother's Day, fingers crossed.

1998

This LO is one of many that I have complete for my Mother-in-Law, covering her 92.5 years, when I started I bought a 8x8 album, well little did I know how many photos she had. I have just ordered my 3 12x12 album. Her collection of photos from her early years are just priceless. I have scanned all the photos and scrapbooked the oringinal, as I now know they are safe and all together in the one place. So lots of pages have a mixture of different photos from different times, so I have done it year by year, some years there may be more than one page but it was the easiest way to do it I found. Some of the LO's I really like and went to a lot more trouble, some are very basic with not a lot on them, but thats OK I have decided. With so many to do plus DD's years and her trip, DS years and mine, it gets a bit over whelming at times. So I reminded myself that scrapbooking is for pleasure and shouldn't be a chore. So when I find it a chore they are basic LO and when its for pleasure I am able to play with the LO more. The one above I enjoyed doing, it was all Black & White till I let loose with the spritz and gave it a brownish tinge. I bought a (wait for it ) a Mills & Boon novel ( LO ) at the 2nd hand shop so I love tearing out the pages and scrunching them up for my LO's, I did try and cut it out with the Cricut, but the paper was to thin. Anyway I like this LO for no particular reason and I enjoyed doing it which is the most import thing. :)

Family @ Christmas

I carried the scrunched up tree onto this page to follow the first one. I used the tree as a template and sprayed spritz on it to leave the outline of the tree on the R hand side of the L page, I had hope to see a bit more of it but I couldn't cut the photos back anymore so what you see is just a bit, but I have moved on. I outlined areas with back pen, you may have to enlarge the photo to see my handy pen work. LOL

Christmas Time 2010

On my way home from Lorne I called into the Kaisercraft Outlet, the above LO ( left hand page only ) had been a kit but had sold out so I managed to still buy the papers and asked permission to take a photo which they were very kind to allow me to do. So I made up the second page which I think goes OK with the 1st. The photos are of DH, DS & myself, DD was still in America having a White Christmas.

Australian Forces

Here is another basic LO, I took these photos at the begining of the Great Ocean Road after a week in Lorne, where it had rained for most of the time and as you will see it was still raining. So once again this LO was about the photos and this Arch has lots of memories for me, which I will add the journalling to one day when I can sit and put pen to paper. I actually used embellishments etc that I had for sometime. I sand papered around the edge of the photos to give them a border.

Magic Masuhrooms

Found these beautiful Mushrooms in the grounds of where we stayed in Beachworth a couple of years ago. They were so perfect the DH thought they where plastic, I just expected a Fairy to appear from under one of them. A very basic LO, but this one was really all about the photos, I did add some stamping which really blends in, not sure if that is a good thing or not, I also added some flowers for a bit of height.

Blog Clean Up

Well I have deleted a couple of things from my blog and have looked at some new back grounds. Plus I have taken the photos of my latest LOs so they are ready to be uploaded, so with a bit of luck I might get round to doing them tonight yeh ha, but please don't hold your breath, I really need to have a roast, so I think tonight is the night as there isn't any sport or appointments. I was home alone yesterday afternoon, how nice so I did managed to take the photos and complete some LOs, so I had a lovely day. Saturday I watch DD play netball so I practiced my sports photography, still plenty to learn. LOL Roz

Oh What a Feeling!!!!

Wow how exciting to be part of the Hobbysew Design Team. I have been so slack since DD arrived back home, I think the thought of 5000 photos to scrapbook has sent me out of my tree, (I still haven't seen 2-3 months worth) but I realise that I can't scrapbook them all, but I now have a plan. So I hope you all don't get sick of looking at LOs from America. I still have Xmas and the beach to there will be some from the land of OZ. Roz Poz in Oz

Halloween Greetings from Iowa

The photo is of DD enjoying her first really Halloween American style. The 2nd page are the cards that she sent us, the Bassett looks so much like our Ike. I have used the wonderful graphic 45, plus some of the pinkpaislee, chipboard tree sprayed with the black spritz which I just love as it has a sparkle in it. I never thought I would do 1 Halloween LO let alone 3. I did think with DD away that I would have so much time for scrapbooking, but how wrong I was, but I need to get a wriggle on and do a lot more before she gets home, as I would say I have about 1000 photo printed already, OMG, looks like my albums will have to wait again.

Halloween

Yes I did get carried away with the decorating, but why not go the whole hog, I even handled spiders, they were plastic but still a big thing for me. Chipboard cutouts, spritz, ad pinkpaislee papers and rubbons I added to the LO. I use silver embossing powder on the spiderweb.

Mad Hatter's Tea Party

I do think that I got a little carried away with the whole Halloween thing. Lucky Annabelle & I have good friends that go with the flow. But once I started, it just got bigger and bigger, but we did have lots of laughs and full tummys. I have used a mixture of products on the LO from Graphic 45 to pinkpaislee to the new glitter paper and of course my trusty cricut machine. Oh and I spritzed the chipboard Boo, but my fine mist just didn't work and I ended up with blobs. Not to worry.
