My Sixteen year old Baby

This is the start of the LO, I bought a lot of the pinkpaislee Parisian Anthology, and the paper on the right is how it looked before I got to the 2 pieces of paper with paint, I was going to use kaisercraft Teal stamp pad, but I found I had paint that would be ok with some white added, well... it match pretty good, but I would have liked it a little paler, but I have moved on, "the sun will come up tomorrow".
so this is the finished LO, a bit loud looking at it here now, I did try and spray it with spritz, to tone it down a bit, but I didn't have enough, anyway I must move on. I made flowers out of the gathered material and then added some bling, I also found some bling & rub-on florishes, which I think blended in with the whole LO.

I had to dust of this bling florish, bought them sometime ago for a special LO, and this was it.

I had to find a needle and cotton for this part.
So that is the 1st LO using the new paper, not sure what I will do with the rest, possibly heritage, which I think will really suit it. But this was fun and a learning experience.

Advent Calendar 2010

Organised chaos!!! Beginners are grinners!!!
Sheer concentration & determination!!!!
Chocolate time!!! Who can go past Cadbury Roses Everyone look at the camera, oh well, I will if nobody else does.
To be continued.........
Firstly it has reached the 100 days till DD comes home, boy I will then be snowed under with LOs, she has become a wonderful little photo taker, and keeper of all things scrapbookable. I have taught her well. I often say don't forget to take a photo of this or that or keep this or that, and she has already done it. :)
Well now all about today, well we ladies got together and by 11.00am we were into serious cutting, inking, sticking, laughing, eating, gluing, making mistakes, fixing mistakes, discussing, embossing, masking, painting, attaching micro beads that run every were, decision making (we all know who has trouble with that, but did cope well today) and packed up by 6.00 and on our way home. And after all that time we still have the little boxes to cover and add the numbers, but that's a Melbourne Cup day, more good food, and lots of laughs.
It doesn't look like we did a lot today, but we were busy for the whole time, lucky we aren't doing them for a living. Thanks for a great day Floss, Trick & Treat & Rosepetal.
I am now planning my next LO, using the new pinkpaislee Parisian Anthology, I just can't wait to have a go tomorrow. I have photoshoped some photos that I think will suit the papers, and I hope a ink that I have will do the trick, so fingers crossed that it makes it onto the blog by tomorrow night.

Sweet 6 teen

I haven't used any new techniques on this LO, but I did use all the left over from the 1st LO, so that is a bonus, and I didn't spend all day doing just one LO, another bonus, had fun with the cricut, Graphically Speaking cart. so another bonus, and have loved using the Spritz another bonus, but its nearly empty, so I will have to buy another, don't think I can live without the Spun Sugar now. So all in all I have had a good day and thats a bonus, so sorry if anyone was wanting to learn a new technique from this LO, but it might just remind you that LOs can turn out pretty good with not a lot of embellishment, or different papers and lots of brain drain, sometimes less is best, and it was for me on this LO.

Sweet Sixteen

Breakfast with Tiffany & Co, & Mum.well my little girls is growing up so fast. I wanted to surprise her with something form Tiffany's as it was such a special birthday. I did enjoy doing this LO, it was really hard to find paper to match Tiffany's colour. I bought the base paper, which is the basic grey urban prairie, bluebird. But I just needed something else, so back down to my LSS, and I found another range of kaisercraft that I didn't think I would use, being "Child's Play". But just to tone it down a bit, and to match the base paper, I sprayed it with "Smooch Spritz", "Spun Sugar". For the base paper I cut letters out on the cricut then sprayed it, removed the letters, then I printed the other words over the top, thank god for A3 printers. Stamped a few words to tie in with the words that I found in the "Find a Word" paper. Then I cut out the letters to spell out the girls names. So I am really happy with this LO. I must now do the 2nd page that goes with it.

Hogmanay

Scotlands New Yesars Eve. But we celebrated in traditional Aussie fashion, eating & laughing. Georgie joined us this year so that was great. Fairly basic LO again, but some times it just happens that way, and with photos that aren't that exciting its a bit hard to get excited about the LO. Will have to try harder for better photos this year, but I won't have DD with me, so could be very very boring NYE. I used a new ranged that I haven't used before (not that I can remember) Collage Press, Knave of Hearts, there wasn't any embellishments to go with it, but thats OK, it done and in the ablum, so I am happy with that. LOL

Men @ Work, Sun up to Sunset & Finished

These LOs are very basic, in fact the only good thing about them is that they are in the albums and have dates & journaling. I used Kaisercraft papers and the cricut to cut out titles, so very boring, but with millions on LOs still to do, some just have to be plain and simple, so here are the 1st of many.

Time Flies

Well what a great day at the all day Crop, with lots of laughs. I complete this LO while there, the photos were taken on my birthday. It was hard to get papers for this LO, I finally found the "PinkPaislee", which I think worked OK with the photos. I used the cricut to cut out the flower, clock, clock hands plus the title. I found a transparency which I though I would add, I then did some stamping of some clock faces, did the journaling and it was completed. But I have just noticed that there are shadow from the grass across the photo of Rose & myself, to late in the day to do anything about it.

Beach Belly

The left hand page of this LO was designed & but together by Helen & Karen for our latest Friday night class. We were warned about the amount of cutting to be done, but it was relaxing, and I think the results were worth it. Then with the leftovers I completed the right hand page, but only just today, I thought I only had to add a heading & journalling, but I kept on playing and cutting and adding, (hate to throw or waste anything) so I have ended up with a fairly busy LO, but I like it, & I think DD will like it also. I did give her a preview while we skyped today, and she is a bit worried that she may not look quiet the same in her bathers when she gets home after all the American food!!!. I can't tell you all the products that were use, because it was a mixture so you will have to go into Hobbysew and ask, but I do know that I bought the "Smooch Spritz"
and I used it on the ...but fun... and the .....Beach Belly...just to make them stand out a little, but not to much, plus I was dying to have a go with it. Plus lots & lots of foam mounting tape, just have to love that stuff!!!! :)

The Mighty Blues

Go Blue Boy, well unfortunately we lost this game, and had to listen to Rosie sing their silly song, always next year!!!! I had a lot of trouble finding paper suitabe for this LO. Thank god for Pink Paislee, this is the 3rd LO using the same range, plus plain white card stock which I did 2 rows of stitching around each page, then around the blue torn paper. I inked a Scrap FX wordlet with Versa Magic, "Night Sky" plus around the edges of paper. I found some silver stars that I have had for yonks and never thought I would use again, thank god I keep everything, also some ribbon that came off a shopping bag that I just couldn't throw out either. Typed up the Carlton theme song & the heading "Carlton Stars, Members & Rosie", and stamped the date, although I am missing the tickets to that game, so I will have to keep searching for them.

State Border

And there's more!!! Another mixture of Kaisercraft papers & embellishments. Plus I used the cricut Printing Press for the title again. I started off with these photos on the other LO with the tickets, and it just did look good, so I then did a swap and with photos and ideas, and now I am happy with the results.

Under the Echuca Wharf

Here are some photos of DD after we had finished our trip on the paddlesteamer. I just loved the great big beams and the structure under the wharf, I thought they were a great background for photos. I have used a mixture of papers Kaisercraft & Well Worn, I love the diamond patterned paper and I raised lots of the diamonds to give a different look to it. For the title I used the cricut Printing Press, which I haven't use much before, but I have now used it 2 LO's in a row.

From little girls....big girls grow...16 years ago!

Here is my DD 16 years ago, boy how times flys!! This left hand LO was done in our class last night with instructor Aussie Chick. Which is such a pretty LO, & me being me I always do a double LO so this is it. Using the Fancy Pants Designs papers, flowers, pearls, ribbon, brads, Kaisercraft new ink Sepia, the paper Doyle and Spritz spray ink, which has a sparkle in it, so very girlie.

Echuca Wharf

Here is another LO of photos when we were just having fun. I have used Kaisercraft Up UP & Away, I love the earthy tones which I feel goes well with the photos. From my showbag that I got on the Make & Take day I got 3 leather Name Plates, so I turn the large one over and rubs some back & brown ink to get the rustic look. On the corrigated cardboard I have sprinkled walnut granuals to get the rustic look on it, then rub it with inks and rub on inks. Lastly I attached a metal tag, which I will when I find my engraver, engrave "Belly" on it.

My Belle

Talking about my girl, my girl Belle. The photo on the left has become my favourite photo of DD, while the one on the right I just like, I love the big old log in the background as a back drop. Well here is another example of Kaisercraft paper range that I didn't think that I would use, how wrong I was (again), the colours and the rustic look just happen to suit these photos. So not a lot of brain storming had to go into this one, as one idea just led to the next with a little discussing with my scrap booking friends (we had a afternoon get together and a couple of us continued well after dinner, take away, no time for cooking). I used the foam mounting tape to raise the circles and butterfly plus the title. I doodled around the paper with a white pen, inked the edge of everything in sight with slate grey ink pad & sanded the edge of the photos. A little bit of string in each tag and stamped the dated on and its done.

Aussie Chick to Yankee Doodle

Yeah I have finished my first LO, these are photos that I took of DD on our last Sunday before she left for USA, the Aussie flag in the background was signed & lovely words of wisdom were written by all family and friend. The other is of her plane as it pull away from me :(. I use the Pink Paisley paper and the cricuit to cut out the title Mini Monograms. The journaling font is one of Twopeas I think called journaling, its a bit hard to see here, but it could be someones handwritting. The LO isn't anything special, but I just love the photos.

She has gone!!

Well 1 1/2 days gone and counting down to DD returns from USA. I can't believe that I didn't get any photos at the airport of her before she left (thats how bad my brain was), but I did get some of her plane, so there is a LO I hope to do this weekend coming.

Count Down

Well DD will be gone in 6 days time, so I hope I can find my creative brain and start to scrap book again. The photos are just piling up, I took 180 yesterday of DD around the Port area, I promise I won't scrap book all of them, but there are a few nice ones that I will be doing. I love the thought of doing rustic layouts. I am getting excitted at the thought!!!!

Dust Gathering

Unfortunately the dust is gathering in my Scrap booking room. With only 18 days till DD leaves on her 5 month journery to the other side of the world, there hasn't been alot to time for scrapbooking, but once she has gone, look out, 5 months of scrap booking, no interuptions from netball, basketball, driving lessons etc. etc. I just hope my creative side can still work while I am missing her.
I had a great morning at the Hobbysew's make & take, so I hope those of you that did come along also enjoyed it.

Burketown, here we come!

I am so please the Kaisercraft bought out this range, I wasn't all the impressed to start with then I remembered these photos of outback Australia and the up, up and away range was perfect. After the "My Little Red Robin" LO that didn't have many embellishments to go with it, it was great to have all the embellishment that one must have, stickers, rub ons, die cut elements, co- ordinating papers, stamps etc. So I really enjoyed doing this LO because there was so many products to choose from. I also bought the new stamps, grunge and script that I used on this LO. Luckily I have a couple more to do using this range, which I am looking forward to.

Just got to love Mother Nature

This simple less is best LO has worked out just the way I wanted, with the beautiful Webster paper range not much more is needed, I used the KC wooden bird cages, and I just wiped a gold ink pad over them to just give a little bit of colour. I just love my little Red Robin.

Glitz & Glamour

Here we are with the birthday girl. I have used plain black cardstock with a little of the Kaisercraft le chateau Lustre & Cle & lavender cardstock to tie in with the invitation and some wide black lace. I used the cricut to cut out the Chandelier, then I added black & silver bling. Plus the new family stamps that I embossed with silver and some flowers in the corner.

Pip's 21st

This is my niece Pip. The 1st photo is a close up of stamping with silver embossing powder, then with a chip board word (21st Birthday) painted black, I then have stamped and embossed on it. It doesn't standout a lot, but it is sort of what I wanted. I have used the Kaisercraft Le Chateau range. I have embossed the wooden keys with silver, I was after the rustic effect, which I got. I had a plain black buckle that I added some lavender bling and treaded the wide black lace through it. The invitation has black lace on it, which I will include on the next LO.

As the Star Shone!

I really love this LO, very simple, and I didn't go to a lot of trouble. The base paper is Mulberry with tiny silver swirls. I then used glitter paper and the cricut and cut out the moon, stars, chandelier & frame for the journaling. Then out of silver & black cardstock I cut out the lamp post. Finished it of with 2 bling swirls. (not sure why its underlined, and I don't know how to get rid of it)

Here comes the Beautiful Bride!!!

Bridget looked just like a beautiful Greek Goddess, her flowing dress with just the right amount of bling, and with the ocean rolling in, in the back gound it was such a lovely sight, sound, and luckily the rain had stopped for her grand entrance.

Family @ Wategos Beach 6\2\10

Here we are all glamed up ready for the wedding. Wategos Beach Byron Bay, what a beautiful place. I have use Kaisercraft paper, flowers, pearls and the Invitations as embellisment.

Heat Gun

I forgot to mention that last Saturday among the products that I bought, I purchased my very own heat gun, and I used it lots on the Ocnce Upon a Time LO. And I am so please with the results. The heat gun has been on my shopping list for some years now, so look out for lots of LO with embossing powder, I only have silver, clear and a bright blue, not sure why I bought that colour, but I bought it some years ago, so thats my excuse anyway.

Once upon a time

I can't take any credit for this LO, firstly it was created by Rachelle Minett, secondly it was found by my good friend, but I did create the 2nd page with what was left over from the kit. Yesterday I had 3.5 scrapbooking friends around for a day of scrapbooking, eating, chatting and laughing. My friend that found this LO & I worked on our own, 2 of the others worked on other LOs and the .5, well didn't do any actual scrapbooking, but did put a lot of photos from 2 resent holidays into a album. Which was a great start for someone that never really took many photos, till we nagged her enough, and she has seen how rewarding it is to capture wonderful memories to keep. The main photo on this LO is of my DS, it has always been one of my favourited photos of him, and as it was taken in 1989 it was lovely to remember what a sweet little boy that he was. But my love of taking photos must be rubbing off a little, as he had gone away camping at the weekend, then while I was doing this LO I recieved a msg with a photo of a beautiful sunset that he had taken, it was so nice to know that he was thinking of me while away and remembered how much I love sunset.

A surprise in my Garden!!!!

For about 4 winters I have spotted a dear little bird with a Red Breast, as hard as I have tried I haven't managed to get a photo, till today YEH! I was so excited that I put my breakfast on hold, much to DD dismay as I crept about the kitchen table then out the back door and crept around to the front to see if I could get a better picture, still didn't get a perfect picture, but I am really happy with most of the ones I did get. Mother Nature just got to love it!!!!
